Troubled Waters

Investigating water loss and community in Arizona

In March 2023, a group of intrepid physical theater graduate students traveled to Arizona to learn about water loss and allocation in the Southwest. The rest of their cohort was undergoing similar research in Nevada, but this group visited Tempe and Phoenix to hear from staff at the Salt River Project and Central Arizona Project, learn from rainwater harvesters in Tuscon, and speak to farmers in Yuma. Below are photographs from their research, and the resulting documentary theater project that performed back in Philadelphia in May.
